"Tips From Former Smokers" Campaign
In an effort to help smokers quit tobacco, the CDC is airing the Tips From Former Smokers (Tips) campaign. The campaign includes two new ads featuring Terrie Hall, who participated in the previous Tips campaigns. This campaign shows us all the real consequences of tobacco use from the real people who suffering.
The new ads were filmed a few days before Terrie passed away from cancer at age 53 in the fall of 2013. More than anything, Terrie wanted to help smokers quit so they could avoid the pain and suffering that she experienced. She thought these powerful ads could provide additional motivation to smokers looking to quit. We think these ads will do just that.
The CDC offers many resources from the campaign including videos, badges and buttons, podcasts and print ads.
